Jennifer Zeng and Kean Wong Celebrating Friendship on Facebook
Wow, Facebook records and remembers everything.
Many thanks to my dear friend Kean Wong and his lovely family. When I first landed in Melbourne in Sep. 2001, only months after I was released from Beijing Female Labour Camp after being detained and tortured there for one year for practicing Falun Gong, Kean's parents were the first two Falun Gong practitioners who went to where I stayed temporally and offered most valuable help.
And Kean offered so much most valuable help too. He revised my refugee application statement (which by the way was very, very long), drove me everywhere (with a very fancy car but I had forgotten its brand as I am very bad with these things) to try to find a JP (Justice of the Peace) to verify my legal documents, took me to the shop to photo-copy my materials, and accompanied me during the entire terrifying process of the intimidating refugee application interview, in which the officer asked so many tough questions!....
The list goes on and on...
And finally, he produced the award-winning Free China: The Courage to Believe, which features me as a main character. 🤣🤣🤣
And by the way, Kean came to know his beautiful wife Xixi Deng when she was involving in the promotion of "Free China: The Courage to Believe".
Need any more reasons to say "thank you" and to celebrate our friendship?
***********
And also by the way, after Kean revised my refugee application statement, I found he had not made too many corrections. So I asked him, "How do you think is my English?" He said, "Your English is better than 90% Australians." I thought he was joking, but remembered his comment anyway...
Was he joking or not? Still wondering...
