"There Wasn’t a Dry Eye When Jennifer Had Finished Speaking"
JENNIFER ZENG was guest speaker at last Tuesday’s Ryde Rotary Club dinner meeting at Next generation Ryde and was introduced by Stephen Sim who was accompanied by his mother Elsie Sim who was down from Brisbane for her birthday visit.
Jennifer is a Falun Gong practitioner who was imprisoned in China and tortured along with other Falun Gong followers who have suffered terribly for their faith by the Chinese authorities. All in the shadow of the Beijing Olympic Games village!
She described the torture treatment and abject cruelty administered to the prisoners and the atrocities executed in the name of re-education through forced labour.
Prisoners are used for organ transplants and Falun Gong practitioners are increasingly being persecuted to death and violated.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when Jennifer had finished speaking, herself wracked with emotion at the recollection of her ordeals. Jennifer has been fortunate enough to escape from China and is now living in Australia as an Australian citizen and continues campaigning for an end of the persecution in China.
She now works as a journalist at New Tang Dynasty Television and has published a book telling her story “One woman’s fight for freedom – witnessing history and Falun Gong. Well worth a read.
