Taking on the Chinese Authorities

Taking on the Chinese Authorities

A moving and inspiring account of a young scientist’s battle with Chinese authorities simply to be able to practice faith.

Having found benefits to her health, Jennifer chose to learn more of Falun Gong and decided to follow the teachings and exercises involved.

However, due to the fear of the sudden success and strong following of Falun Gong, the Chinese government banned the practice.

Consequently, Jennifer and many others were imprisoned for so-called re-education through forced labor.

Many were tortured in an effort to turn them away from their beliefs.

Despite much of the government’s propaganda to the country, the main focus of Falun is to “practice: Truth, Compassion and Forbearance”.

Jennifer’s account is powerful, sometimes disturbing, but veer honest as she struggles with her own motives for survival.

Eventually she is released but with dramatic effects on her life and family.

Coming to Australia she unites with other followers and is able to share her story with the world, which needs to be aware of her plight and the struggle of many others.

A worthwhile read, particularly for those with a desire to be aware of injustice in the world.
