What is the Best Strategy to Protect Americans from an Aggressive Chinese Communist Party?
My Interview with "Center of Security Policy (CSP)"
(Jennifer’s note: A shortened version of the following Q & A was published on CSP Member News distributed to readers around the U.S. in late October.)
Q1: Your story is heartbreaking and sheds light on an environment of brutality many Americans think of as part of our world history, not a fear that 1.4 billion people face every day. How have Americans reacted to your story?
Jennifer: The general public usually expresses their shock, sympathy, and support when they learn of my horrific experiences. The U.S. Congress has also passed several resolutions to condemn the persecution of Falun Gong in China and support Falun Gong practitioners' basic human rights.
However, at the government level, little has been done to really address the issue; and the consequences of doing nothing are dire, although so many people have not realized this.
If we look back over the last 20 years or so, we can see two seemingly unrelated things have been happening in parallel:
1. The brutal persecution of Falun Gong, and then the persecution of other religious and minority groups including Christians, Tibetans, Uighurs, Tibetan Buddhists, etc.
2. China has experienced rapid economic growth and has become the No. 2 economy in the world at the cost of many other nations, especially the U.S. since it was allowed to join the WTO in 2001 after the U. S. delinked China's human rights record with its “Permanent Normal Trade Status.”
The reasons why China can maintain such rapid GDP growth include:
1) The booming "kill-on-demand" human organ harvesting "industry" has brought billions of dollars to the CCP (Chinese Communist Party), given that every year 60,000-100,000 transplants have been performed. (https://endtransplantabuse.org/an-update/) One person's organs alone can be sold for as much as half a million dollars. (https://dafoh.org/overview-on-forced-organ-harvesting-in-china/)
2) Millions of imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience across China have become free slave laborers for the CCP. The no-labor-cost products these free slave laborers have made with their sweat and tears have flooded the US market and greatly impacted its manufacturing industry.
Today, when the world "suddenly" feels and sees CCP's aggressive expansion , people should realize that exactly because the world has remained silent and done virtually nothing to stop the CCP's ruthless persecution of its own citizens, the CCP is able to conduct things in its own way, with the ability to literally bully the rest of the world.
The world's non-action and kowtowing to the CCP makes it believe that as long as it has enough money and power, it can bully its way across the world without any resistance.
Q2: Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisc) has suggested that the “best defense for the United States is to have a strong economy and rebuild the military.” From your experiences interacting with public officials and telling your story around the world, do you believe that this is the best strategy to protect Americans from an aggressive Chinese Communist Party?
Jennifer: A strong economy and robust military are indeed very important to keep the CCP in check, but only when we show our willingness and readiness to use them.
Another important point is that as long as the CCP exists, it won't stop persecuting innocent people or stop its efforts in establishing “a community of a shared future for mankind”.
And what is “a community of a shared future for mankind”? To explain this great "Chinese Dream", or the dream about "the Rejuvenation of the Great Chinese Nation" in plain English, it means that the CCP wants to re-shape the world order with only itself at its center.
This is actually another expression of the “Communist Dream" at its foundational stage, which was expressed as "the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions” in the “Communist Manifesto” published in 1848.
Therefore, in order to maintain the safety and peace of the U.S. and the world, it is not enough to only keep the CCP in check. We should actively seek ways to completely dismantle it.
Please don't be alarmed by the word "dismantle". We have once actively sought to dismantle the Soviet Union, the Saddam Hussein regime, ISIS, and Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda; why shouldn't we do the same to the CCP, which has done no less evil in systematically murdering countless numbers of its own innocent citizens?
One thing that is unique to the CCP, though, is that it has successfully dragged down the rest of the world to a certain degree. It has corrupted so many Western politicians, Multi-National corporations and Wall Street, having them bow to the power of wealth. Those politicians and big corporations then begin to work for the corrupt interests of the CCP, instead of the welfare of the people of their own countries.
This makes the CCP even more dangerous and harmful than other regimes the U.S. once set out to dismantle.
And the dismantling of the CCP could be much easier and much less expensive than we have imagined.
I personally believe that the most efficient and least expensive way is to help the Chinese people to gain free and uncensored information inside and outside of China; and to empower the Chinese people themselves to overthrow the CCP. I believe they will do so after awakening to all the heinous crimes of the CCP, and the universal values of our more civilized world.
If we could make an investment in technology and equipment that can break down the CCP's Great Firewall, and enable all the Chinese people to have free access to the internet, it would be very difficult for the CCP to continue to deceive and fool the Chinese people. They could then rise up themselves and dismantle the CCP.
"Global Free Internet Act of 2012" and "Global Free Internet Act of 2015" have already been introduced in the U.S. Congress. The only thing remains to be done is to summon up enough political will to implement such a law.
Apart from helping the population in China to gain free access to the Internet, another thing the U.S. can do is to figure out what kind of media the U.S. needs to battle a modern-day Trojan War, and to give full support to the ones that can help the US to tackle this war, as stated in my article written last September: “What Kind of Media Do We Need to Battle a Modern Day Trojan War? “
Furthermore, economic means can be very effective too. Maybe President Trump’s initial purpose for beginning the trade war with China was not to dismantle the CCP. However, if he can continue with his initial motivation, which was to rectify the unfair trade relations between the two countries, and insist on demanding the CCP to make structural changes, the final result could be the end the CCP regime, as its economic development is based on unsustainable models such as stealing, currency manipulating, forceful technology transfer, subsiding, etc. This kind of development cannot last forever once the West stops allowing it to take control.
If the U. S. government can actively adopt more financial and economic measures, such as financial sanctions, excluding CCP companies from the U.S. stock market or even banking and US-dollar clearing system, an oil embargo, etc, the CCP could collapse much sooner.
Again, the questions remain: Do we have enough political will? How do we define the CCP?
Q3: The Chinese Communist Party just celebrated its 70th anniversary, yet the Chinese civilization has been estimated to be more than 5,000 years old. There is a rich cultural and political history before communism. How can we encourage world leaders and international organizations to condemn brutality and demand respect for the Chinese people?
Jennifer: From now on, we should always try to differentiate the CCP from "China" and "China’s people". We should use "CCP" instead of "China" at all times when we speak and write about the CCP's crimes and brutality.
In this way, we can help people to realize that the CCP is NOT China and will never represent the Chinese people. Instead, it has taken hostage of China and its citizens, and uses them against the world.
We should help the Chinese people to break away from the CCP, and join forces with them and the world to dismantle the CCP.
Again, only after the CCP is gone, can the world be safe.
Q4: How can people help to spread the word about your story and shed light on what the Chinese government is doing? Host a movie screening of Free China read and share your book, or invite you to speak?
Jennifer: Yes, hosting a movie screening of Free China, reading and sharing my book, "Witnessing History: One Chinese Woman’s Fight for Freedom and Falun Gong", and inviting me to speak, etc, are all ways that people can help share the message.
