Ex-Official Exposes CCP's Grim Organ Harvesting Practices
New York, December 18, 2024 - A former high-ranking official from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Du Wen, who was wrongfully imprisoned for 12 years, has come forward with chilling details about the current state of organ harvesting in China. Du, once the director of the legal advisory office for the Inner Mongolia government, shared his insights in an exclusive interview with New Tang Dynasty Television (NTD) and the Epoch Times.
Cost of Execution Eliminated: According to Du Wen, the practice of executing death row prisoners in China has taken a dark turn. He claims that the CCP no longer charges families for the cost of the lethal injection, which was once 2,800 yuan per shot. Instead, prisoners are now given anesthesia, their organs are removed while they are still alive, and they are then cremated, leaving families to only receive ashes.
Firsthand Accounts from Prison: While serving his sentence, Du encountered numerous inmates who had undergone organ transplants, leading him to believe in the widespread and systematic organ harvesting from not just Falun Gong practitioners but potentially from other prisoners as well. "I only realized here that organ harvesting is indeed a real thing," he stated, emphasizing the scale might be far larger than previously thought.
A Disturbing Incident Post-Release: After his release last year, Du was approached by a woman who discovered one of her kidneys missing after a supposed sterilization procedure. When she sought his help, she mysteriously disappeared after providing initial documentation, further illustrating the pervasive secrecy and danger surrounding these practices.
Organ Transplant Ads in Beijing: Du Wen, now residing in Europe but recently visiting New York, observed that Beijing is littered with advertisements for organ transplants on the streets and near hospitals, much like the widespread fake certificate ads from years past. "Every advertisement is evidence!" he exclaimed, pointing out that these ads openly advertise the availability of organs with promises of quick matches if the initial attempt fails.
International Connections: During his visit to New York, Du learned from his friend, Dr. Zhao Yunlong, an NGO strategist at the United Nations, about a case where a woman was waiting in China for a kidney transplant due to the short waiting times compared to the United States. This conversation stopped abruptly, suggesting the sensitivity and possibly illegal nature of the topic.
A Call for Attention: Reflecting on his experiences, Du Wen warns of the "deep, unseen darkness" behind these practices. Despite the crackdown on less harmful activities like producing fake certificates, no such action is taken against the organ trade, highlighting a moral and legal abyss in contemporary China.
The full interview, shedding light on this grim reality, can be accessed here. This revelation by Du Wen not only brings to light the human rights abuses in China but also calls for international scrutiny and action against these heinous practices.
