One of the reasons we didn't participate in the election in the past was that "one more vote or one less vote would have no effect on the outcome of the election.” But this time things are different. After the first round, Johns Creek's 50th House District was down to two candidates: Brad Raffensberger and Kelly Stewart, both conservative Republicans whose political views were virtually indistinguishable. Only 2,500 of the 25,000 voters in the first-round district voted, and Brad trailed Kelley by only 26 votes.

Brad reached out to the Asian community this time to understand and listen to our voices. He visited the Downtown Chinese Dance and Cultural School the weekend before, visited Atlanta Modern Chinese School, which has 500+ students, last Saturday, and on Sunday he hosted 30 Chinese at his home to speak about his governing philosophy. As a city councilman, he also attended the award ceremony for my Boy Scout troop and spoke on behalf of the city.
