Hello, everyone! Welcome to Inconvenient Truths. I am your host Jennifer Zeng.

The fact that Linda Sun, an aide to the Governor of New York, is an agent of the CCP shocked many Americans. In fact, comprehensive infiltration and control of the United States is part of the CCP's global strategy. Today, we will use a series of articles from The New York Times as an example to illustrate this issue.

Due to the need to present many facts and pieces of evidence, we will discuss this issue in two parts.

Nicole Hong, George Hong, and the Western Returned Scholars Association (Oversea-educated Scholars Association of China)

Not long ago, the New York Times published a series of lengthy articles that wantonly misrepresented and smeared Falun Gong, a spiritual practice that has been brutally persecuted by the CCP for more than 25 years, as well as Shen Yun Performing Arts, which was founded by the Falun Gong group. What is the direct and indirect connection between these articles and the CCP?

First, let's look at the author of the articles.

The main author is Nicole Hong. Her Chinese name is Hong Qian Qian 洪芊芊.

Her father is George Hong, a professor at Fordham University in New York, whose Chinese name is Hong Zhao Hui 洪朝辉.

This George Hong is not just a nobody, he is a big name in the CCP.

Let's look at the evidence.

This is the introduction page of the Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, which mentions that Hong is a visiting professor at Zhejiang University, Jiangxi Normal University, and other Chinese universities, and an honorary overseas director of the Western Returned Scholars Association.

Now let's focus on the Western Returned Scholars Association.

This is the home page of its website. See, the top article is: “Qiushi Journal publishes an important article by General Secretary Xi Jinping”, the four articles in the headline article section are all about Xi Jinping's “important speeches” or other activities. People who do not know better will think that this is the website of the CCP’s most important mouthpiece, such as Xinhua or the People's Daily.

In fact, the Western Returned Scholars Association is an organization directly under the United Front Work Department of the CCP.

Let's look at Baidu's introduction of this association: it is also called the Oversea-educated Scholars Association of China, a people's organization with a high degree of intellectualism and united front work, established directly “under the leadership of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CCP” in 1913.

It is headed by the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CCP, and directly managed by the Central Committee of the CCP’s United Front Work Department.  It is also listed as one of the 22 "mass organizations" on the website of the CCP’s Office of the Central Organization Committee, which means that this is an organization on the payroll of the Central Committee of the CCP.

This association has been called “the most powerful association ” by Chinese media: former CCP leader JIANG Zemin, former Premier LI Peng, who suppressed the student movement in 1989, and former Vice-Chairman of the CCP's Central Military Commission LIU Huaqing were all once members of it.

In addition, CCP leaders Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao, and Xi Jinping have all inscribed words for it or attended its conferences.

Here is Jiang Zemin's inscription for it, and this is a plaque with the name he wrote for it on it. Standing on the left side of the plaque is Liu Yandong, former Chinese Vice Premier and Minister of the United Front Work Department.

On October 21, 2013, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the association was celebrated at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where Xi Jinping personally delivered an “important speech”.

Now we all know how important this Western Returned Scholars Association is, don't we?

And the father of the reporter who wrote the New York Times articles attacking Shen Yun and Falun Gong is an “honorary overseas director” of this organization.

George Hong's Close Relationship with CCP

Let’s now take a look at George Hong's personal connections with the CCP.

According to the National Zhejiang University, Hong graduated from Hangzhou University (now renamed Zhejiang University) in China in 1982, came to the United States to study in 1986, and began teaching in the United States in 1992, and has been working at various universities in the United States ever since.

However, just two years after he started working, as early as 1994, he started traveling to China to give various speeches and exchanges.

This article mentions that on September 10, 1994, he gave a lecture at the Department of History of the Beijing Normal University.

These are the photos in the article.

This article shows that on June 29, 2010, he was invited to give a lecture at Renmin University in China.

As we all know, Renmin University specializes in training senior officials for the CCP, and many of the CCP's so-called “National Political Mentors” are also from this university.

This report shows that on June 30, 2010, George Hong visited and lectured at Zhenjiang Sci-Tech University.

These are photos from the article.

This report shows that on May 29, 2017, Hong visited Zhejiang Yuexiu University.

These are photos from the article.

It can be seen that Hong is an important guest of the CCP and often goes back to China for various activities.

As we know, not long ago, the U.S. FBI arrested a CCP agent, Tang Yuanjun, who is in fact a veteran pro-democracy activist. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his participation in the 1989 student movement, which was later reduced to 8 years, and after his release, he smuggled himself to Kinmen Island of Taiwan by swimming in 2002 to seek political asylum, and then he came to the United States, became a U.S. citizen, and continued to engage in pro-democracy activities.

However, in 2018, he wanted to go back to China because his mother was very sick, and because of this, he was forced step by step by the CCP to become a CCP agent.

In other words, in order to go back to China, he paid the price of working for the CCP, which he has always opposed and fought against. Therefore, not everyone can just go to China casually. I have never been able to go back to China since I escaped in 2001, even when my father was dying in 2014.

So if George Hong can go back to China so frequently, what kind of person is he?

Besides going back to China frequently, he also sings the praises about his “motherland” overseas.

For example, in 2014, during a series of events in Chicago to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Confucius Institute, he sang the “Song of the Yangtze River” in praise of the CCP.

As a historian, Hong has also written articles to promote “positive” U.S.-China relations.

In the long article titled "Can the Lost China-U.S. Friendship Be Found Again?", Hong proposes many suggestions, and finally says, "Once the U.S. and China completely fall out, sever diplomatic relations, and China returns to the Mao Zedong era, the U.S., from top to bottom, will have to discuss again: who lost China again, and it will be necessary to investigate which American politicians abandoned this priceless, limitless market of China? Who forced China back to Mao Zedong's era of isolation?"

He refers to China as a priceless, limitless market, clearly implying his support for the CCP

Evidence of Nicole Hong's Father-Daughter Relationship with George Hong

So how do we know that George Hong is Nicole Hong's father?

He said so himself.

Check out this book he wrote, “Introduction to Propriety Economics”. In the foreword, he mentions, “My daughters, Hong Qian Qian and Hong Xiaoxiao, have utilized their knowledge of U.S. government policy and business operations to challenge and suggest some of the ideas in the book, which have also benefited me.”

Xing (Lucy) Lu (吕行), a professor at DePaul University, said in an article, “A friend of mine, Prof. Hong Zhaohui's daughter, Nicole Hong, is a reporter for the New York Times and won the Pulitzer Prize in 2019.”

This article even confirms that Hong Qian Qian's English name is Nicole Hong and that she is a reporter for the New York Times.

So now we know that the father of the main reporter of the New York Times who wrote the series of articles attacking Shen Yun and Falun Gong is an honorary director of the Western Returned Scholars Association, which belongs to the CCP’s United Front Work Department, and of which even Jiang Zemin used to be a member, so what kind of status is that? I think it's not an exaggeration to call George Hong an official of the CCP’s United Front Work Department, regardless he is on their payroll or not.

As we all know, in many Chinese families, including families in many Asian countries, the relationship between family members is usually relatively close, and parents have a great influence on their children. Judging from the fact that George Hong especially mentioned his daughter's help in the foreword of his own book, the relationship between them should also be close as well. So it is then not very inconceivable that Nichole Hong was influenced or guided by her father to accomplish something. Do you agree?

Collusion between the New York Times and CCP

Another fact to know is that in order to operate in China, the Western media must cooperate with the CCP to a certain extent.

Former Chinese journalist Zhao Lanjian revealed that any foreign media outlet must be vetted before they can operate in China, and that the CCP's United Front Work Department must be involved in this process, carrying out “united front work” with overseas reporters, and that the leaders of the CCP's United Front Work Department are in direct contact with the bosses or management of major overseas media outlets. Direct contact with the leaders of the CCP Central Propaganda Department is a dream come true for almost all overseas journalists, as it not only gives them access to the best insider information, but also the possibility of financial support.

Zhao Lanjian said that the New York Times does have extremely close ties with the top echelons of the CCP. It even helped a certain gang within the CCP to successfully bring down former Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, implicating former CCP head Hu Jintao, and helping the top CCP factions to complete the change of power.

Therefore, it is almost impossible that there is no collusion between the New York Times and the CCP.

Motive: “Eliminate Falun Gong in Three Months”

As we all know, when discussing a crime, we usually start from three aspects: motive, behavior, and consequences.

Eliminating Falun Gong within three months was the goal set by the CCP in 1999 when it initiated a full-scale crackdown on Falun Gong. If you had lived in China at that time, you would know how much effort the CCP put into achieving this goal. From the point of media propaganda alone, all channels of all TV stations could not wait to broadcast defamatory content against Falun Gong 24 hours a day, including channels that usually only broadcast music or cartoons. Some people were so mad about this because they had no other content to watch that they even wanted to smash their TV sets.

Although the goal of eliminating Falun Gong within three months has not been achieved, the CCP's “original intention” has not changed over the years.

For example, at least three dissidents have recently said that the CCP has made it clear that Falun Gong is their number one enemy.

Senior dissident Tang Baiqiao said that the CCP once sent someone to the U.S. to find him, saying that as long as he didn't support Falun Gong, he could do everything else, and that they could even provide him with a platform to write articles calling for democracy, and that they would pay him at the highest rate for his pro-democracy articles.

Behavior: Bribing U.S. Officials, Initiating Unreasonable Lawsuits

A while ago, the FBI uncovered a case of CCP agents, two pro-CCP “overseas Chinese” leaders in Los Angeles, Chen Jun and Lin Feng, who tried to cancel the tax-exempt status of Shen Yun Performing Arts, which was registered as a U.S. non-profit organization. They tried to achieve this by bribing a U.S. IRS official.

Recently, a US  federal judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by an environmental group against Dragon Springs, a campus in New York State that houses Shen Yun Performing Arts.

The man at the center of the lawsuits is Alex Scilla, who filed the same lawsuit four times. Before moving to New York, he lived in Tianjin, China, for 15 years, during which time he held a position at the so-called “American Chamber of Commerce” and had frequent contact with CCP officials there.

In January 2019, he set up a so-called 'environmental committee' called NYenvironcom at a location about 40 miles from Dragon Springs.

A month later, he registered a new company in China called Frontier Environmental Services, and he owns 100% of it.  This company is listed as a “partner” of New York company NYenvironcom

The registered capital of his company in China was 800K yuan or 113K US dollars. But there is no sign that he has started any business in China, and I highly doubt that this is what the CCP paid him for initiating the lawsuits against Shen Yun’s headquarters.

I cite these two examples to illustrate that the elimination of Falun Gong is still the goal of the CCP, and in order to eliminate Falun Gong in the U.S., they need to take advantage of the various loopholes in the U.S. society and the agents that they have bribed in the U.S. to do so.

The reason why the CCP wants to eliminate Falun Gong is that it believes that Falun Gong is a threat to its power, so it wants to keep its power.

The New York Times Articles Are Part of CCP's Global Deployment

In fact, the CCP is not satisfied with just retaining its power, it is also expanding globally. That's why it's making such a big move and infiltrating the world. The Belt and Road Initiative, the Thousand Talents Program, the Confucius Institute, etc. are all part of the CCP's global expansion plan.

Since there is such a large-scale layout, wouldn’t it just be natural for the CCP to use it to deal with Shen Yun and Falun Gong?

So, I would say that the articles from The New York Times are, in my view, just a part of this global deployment of the CCP.

Okay, due to time constraints, I'll stop here for today. In the next episode, we'll discuss the so-called whistleblower to The New York Times, the CCP agent behind this whistleblower, and the techniques used in the New York Times articles to distort facts and mislead readers. The content I will expose will all be my exclusive findings.
