Communist China & Its Crackdown on Hong Kong & Minorities with Jennifer Zeng
The Chinese government and its communist roots are appearing in the US news a lot with relation to its crackdown on freedom activists in Hong Kong. Also, one of the NBA team's general managers retweeted a symbol which expressed support for the Hong Kong protestors and set off a media firestorm as the communist government demanded that the NBA apologize. This controversy has brought to light the deep influence the Chinese government has on American businesses, its cultural products (Hollywood), and government policies.
My guest is Jennifer Zeng, a woman who was arrested four times and sent to hard labor camps where she was tortured and almost killed for carrying out a peaceful spiritual practice called Falun Gong. Hundreds of millions of Chinese men and women were rounded up by the government who also does the same to minorities like those in Tibet, Christians, and Muslim Uyghurs. Worse, many of these prisoners are then executed to harvest their organs and sell to foreigners for cash.
I spoke with Dr. Ann Corson of Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting in Episode 017 about the practice of this atrocity and the extent of the executions. Ms. Zeng goes through the practices of the government and her story of how they look to control their people. It is why she is so outspoken in condemning the government and what it is doing in Hong Kong. She warns us that the news coming from China is corrupt and raw propaganda sanitized for those in the West to watch.
