Stars
By Gerard Traub
How bright the stars blaze
never to be extinguished
or consumed
by the darkness of night.
How they swirl in oceans
surrounding us
a timeless display
like seeds born and adrift
upon an infinite tide.
May we set our eyes
indeed our hearts
upon their wonder
more than a spectacle of light
to realms still to be imagined
landscapes and frontiers
waiting to be discovered
all the while surrounding
and drawing us into waters
unchartered within.
Let us breathe with the stars
and tides of our own becoming
our light to be revealed
inside the darkness of night.
