Breaking: The Southern War Zone of the PLA Requires School to Set up Taiwan Related Self Media and Public Opinion Detachment 中共南部戰區要求學校成立對臺相關自媒體及輿論分隊
An official letter from the Southern War Zone of the PLA of China shows that a school in Zhanjiang City in Guangdong Province was required to establish an internet self-media and publish opinion detachment.

The red-headed document was issued to Nanhai School in Zhanjiang City by the Political Work Department of the Southern War Zone of the PLA of China on May 12, 2022.
這份紅頭文件是南部戰區政治部於2022年5月12日下發的。文件要求學校建立編制爲45人的媒體暨輿論分隊。
The letter says, “ According to the Central Military Commission's requirement about expanding the Taiwan-related staffing quotas, it is decided that an Internet self-media and public opinion detachment, staffed by 45 people, be established. Please actively cooperate with this operation. “
A leaked audio file of a top-secret war mobilization meeting in Guangdong Province shows that “public opinion propaganda” is also part of the overall mobilization plan.
此前被曝光的广東省轉入戰時狀態絕密會議的錄音顯示，在備戰會議上，輿論工作確實是對臺作戰整體計劃中的一部分。
It was mentioned in the meeting that “The South China Sea area command post is formed by elite forces of the command. It will be sent to the Zhanjiang area in due course, and focus on the prewar preparation in the South China Sea area, as well as organizational planning and command and control.

“The special command post relies on the relevant military-civilian departments and industry systems and has constructed 12 special command posts including people's air defense, traffic mobilization, national economic mobilization, public opinion propaganda, stability maintenance, and chaos control. They were set up by each lead unit. Under the unified command of the military-civilian joint command, they shall organize and implement mobilization tasks in each section, and organize and take command of special operations.”

In the top-secret meeting, Wang Shouxin, Political Commissar of Guangdong Military Region, also stressed the importance of public opinion.
He said, “Look at the recent several regional wars, especially the Russian-Ukrainian conflict war situation. If you look at the big picture, the United States and the West will try everything to slander us, smear us, in an attempt to confuse right and wrong, to shake our will to win a just and decisive battle. We must give full play to public opinion, legal struggle, psychological war, and militia teams to strengthen the guidance of public opinion and psychological protection, and cohesion of patriotic support for the positive energy of the military front.”
广东省军区政委王守信在那次会议中说，「从近几场局部战争，特别是俄乌冲突战争情况看，站在大气候，美西方必极力对我污蔑，抹黑，妄图混淆是非，动摇我正义决战决胜意志。我们要充分发挥舆论法理斗争，心理和民兵队伍作用，加强公众舆论引导和心理防护，凝聚爱国拥军支前的正能量。」

According to a Chinese media report, on September 5, 2019, the Southern War Zone and Zhanjiang City held a signing ceremony to jointly build Zhanjiang Nanhai School and vowed to build Zhanjiang Nanhai School into “a model school with distinctive features and first-class education quality for military-civilian integration.”
據南方報報導，2019年9月5日，「南部战区海军和湛江市人民政府举行共建湛江南海学校签约仪式，军地双方表示，将携手把湛江南海学校建设成为一所特色明显、教育质量一流的军民融合示范学校。」
The school's predecessor was Zhanjiang Seaside Middle School founded in 1962. It had about 3,300 students and 147 teaching staff in 2019. The Nanhai School was established mainly for the children of troops stationed in Zhanjiang City.
報導稱，學校的前身是湛江海滨中学，创办于1962年，2019年時有3300名學生和147名教职工，學校的成立主國爲解決驻湛部队官兵子女义务教育问题。
